An Authentic Skid Mark (AASM) I am a Garment Maker dedicated to create a world with more options. Clothing is the art of lived experience, a medium through which we present ourselves to the world on a daily basis. I make clothing to authentically enhance our entire beauty. I make clothing for everyone. Dressing is an intimate experience, and everyone deserves equal access to comfortably explore their own personal style. My designs aim to create truthful expressions of time and experience while also introducing new ideas about what clothing can do or be! I believe that creativity is fundamental for a future of collective liberation. As a designer and sewist it is an honor to serve my community, creating a platform for others to share their message. I look to the disability justice community for guidance on how to create access within all realms of my practice; from the construction of garments to the kind space needed for a comfortable fitting, everything requires consideration. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. Though currently tied to this system , I am always seeking and open to collaborate on new ideas for how to create forms of exchange that are equitable and sustainable. I never want my work to become exclusive for any reason especially income level. I try to use as much recycled and repurposed material as possible, and purchase fabric from outlets that buy overstock. I am committed to create clothing that does as little environmental harm as possible, continually researching and reimagining resources, but I still have a long way to go. I am eternally grateful to everyone who has supported my work and allowed for me to live my life doing what I love.

Commissions! I work collaboratively with clients to design and construct custom clothing that meets any access needs, comfortably fits, and compliments the wearers physical body while also authentically expressing their unique style and vision. To make anothers clothing requires them to trust me and allow close access to their body. I honor this and do not take it for granted, always working with consideration and respect. I specialize in creating strong silhouettes, structural performative garments, impactful daywear, and custom tailored garments, I can make anything. With over 20 years of sewing and patterning experience, I have worked within many realms of designs and construction including but not limited to: Bridal, children’s clothing, costuming for theater, Maternity wear, work wear, dance wear, swim wear, underwear whatever you wanna wear I literally got you. Authentic Skid Marks! Limited Editions! Every 2 months AASM will drop three brand new featured designs. Only 5 orders of each featured Authentic Skid Mark look will be available (first come first serve, no wait list). These looks will be available for 2-3 months or till they sell out. When placing an order your measurements are required. Every look is constructed after the order is placed, based on the measurements given at the time of purchase. Expected delivery of these particular items is around one month from the date of purchase.
